Kentucky Fried Cruelty Campaign

If you've been to KentuckyFriedCruelty.com, then you know that PETA is asking KFC to eliminate the worst abuses that chickens suffer on the factory farms and in the slaughterhouses of its suppliers, including live scalding, lifelong crippling, and painful debeaking. KFC tortures chickens in ways that would result in felony cruelty-to-animals charges if cats or dogs were the victims, but KFC still refuses to make any changes.

We've come up with just a few ways for you to help the nearly 1 billion chickens killed each year for KFC and earn some free stuff for yourself while you're at it. Of course, you have to join the peta2 Street Team to get in on the fun.

Just so you know, Canadians did a great job in securing a victory and an end to the campaign in Canada only, but we're still going ahead everywhere else around the world.

To help you with your efforts, we have some offers on what we can mail to you for free. Please request free Kentucky Fried Cruelty protest materials here.

A basic leafleting pack that's perfect for school or shows can be requested here.

You can also e-mail peta2@peta2.com with any questions or other needs you have, OK?

Activity

Points

Organize a demonstration against KFC.
Contact PETA2@peta2.com at least two weeks in advance, and we'll make the task of organizing a demo a heck of a lot easier on you. We'll send you supplies and send an alert to local activists to let them know about the demo, and we'll even contact the local media. Check out our guide to demos for some helpful pointers.

Participate in a demo against KFC.
Attend a local demo organized by PETA, a local group, or your friends. Join the peta2 Street Team so that we can alert you about upcoming demos in your area.

Hand out leaflets at a local KFC.
Take an hour out of your day to hand out leaflets in front of a local KFC. So long as you are standing on public property—like the sidewalk—KFC can't make you leave. You can have a pack of leaflets mailed to you or print some yourself and get started right away!

Ask KFC to commit to PETA's list of specific steps to improve animals' lives.

Write to David Novak and other KFC bigwigs. View PETA's demands here.

Write letters to the editor.
Use the "Letters to the Editor" section of local newspapers to inform people in your community about how animals suffer for KFC. Tell readers that the best thing they can do for animals is to go vegetarian, and be sure to recommend that they visit KentuckyFriedCruelty.com. Send us a printed copy of (or a link to) your published letter to earn a Kentucky Fried Cruelty stencil and bonus points.

Pretty self-explanatory—go nuts with our “Kentucky Fried Cruelty” stickers (on your own property, of course)!
